The Healing Racial Trauma Initiative (HRTI) works to increase access to multicultural and racial trauma-informed mental health programming and resources for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). By centering Afrocentric and Indigenous worldviews at the heart of patient care, HRTI seeks to alleviate cultural barriers to mental health care and provide direct access to therapeutic practices and resources that are intentionally designed to mitigate racial trauma.
The Program Assistant of HRTI is a key member of the team responsible for assisting the advancement of operations in the HRTI department. Core Responsibilities:
Providing comprehensive administrative support to HRTI, including ensuring prompt and professional responses to emails, messages, and communication from team members
Creating, proofreading, and updating documents such as grant checklists, project proposals, surveys, webpage development, and contracts
Developing original content for HRTI blog posts
Manage project timelines, milestones, and deadlines using management tools such as Asana to ensure all tasks are tracked and completed on time
Regularly review and update project schedules to accommodate changes and ensure alignment with program objectives
Support grant development and process
Scheduling and coordinating logistics for meetings, trainings, and travel
Keeping an operational overview of online resources such as files in Google Docs, Dropbox, Canva, Menti, and Qualtrics
Attending meetings and taking minutes
Assisting in the planning and implementing of HRTI programming
Providing insight, support, and guidance to HTRI
Work independently and with the team to meet the goals of HRTI

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills - grant or professional writing experience is a plus but not required -
While most work will be remote in nature, the Program Assistant will be expected to attend some in person meetings in the Cumberland County area, and at times expected to attend some in-person meetings throughout the State of Maine
Familiarity with Google Office Suite and/or Microsoft Office Suite, including document, spreadsheet, and slide creation/editing. The Program Assistant must be able to competently use Google Calendar to schedule and track meetings
Must be self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize. Most work will be conducted virtually, which means that our Program Assistant will need to be able to self-direct their work.
Previous experience working with social justice, human rights, non-profit, or other related areas or organizations are useful but not required
Mindbridge will train our Program Assistant on human rights and neuropsychology considerations.
Hours per week: Part-Time, approximately 5-10 hours per week regularly, with the possibility of upwards of 15 hours per week
Compensation: $25/Hourly
